Speed & Simplicity with TTL

The ELB 500 TTL is the perfect partner for those time sensitive photo shoots, where speed and convenience are paramount to getting the job done successfully. For manual shooters, the “Manual Lock" function allows you to get an initial “lock" on the exposure in TTL, and then switch to manual mode to make creative adjustments.

Incredible Performance & Portability

Volumetrically the ELB 500 TTL is the smallest 500w/s portable flash unit on the market. At a combined weight of just 2.48kg for the Pack & Battery, and 680g combined for the Head and Cable, the entire package is extremely lightweight. The modular system allows for the most convenient packing into a huge variety of shoulder bags, backpacks, flight cases etc.

The ELB 500 TTL head is smaller than most speedlights and yet delivers on average 10 times the power. Plus, it is lightweight enough to be mounted on a camera bracket or boom arm while on location. Despite its small size and high power, the ELB 500 TTL delivers 400 full power flashes on a single charge and recycles from full power in just 2.0 seconds!

Shooting up to 1/8000s in HSS Mode? Until now High Speed Sync (HSS), whilst offering perfectly even exposures, has suffered from a more significant loss in power than the Hi-Sync (HS) method. With the ELB 500 TTL the power difference between the methods is now a thing of the past, thanks to Elinchrom's enhancements in maximising efficiency in HSS technology.

Convenience & Control with Skyport Pro or Phottix ODIN II Transmitters

The ELB 500 TTL features built-in Skyport, Elinchrom's reliable and easy to use wireless system as well as Odin II functionality from Phottix. Integrate existing Elinchrom flashes or Phottix Mitros or Indra units into your workflow seamlessly.

For photographers already using the Skyport Plus HS Transmitter, there's no need for an additional Skyport Pro Transmitter. Simply update the firmware on your HS module to obtain the latest TTL feature set. At launch the ELB 500 TTL is compatible with Canon and Nikon using the Skyport Pro Transmitters, and Canon, Nikon & Sony with the Phottix Odin II option. More compatibility to follow very soon.

The Versatility of HSS, Asymmetry & Active Charging

When used with the Elinchrom Pro or Phottix Odin II Transmitters the ELB 500 TTL is capable of High Speed Sync to seamlessly synchronise at speeds of up to a 1/8000s. Freeze motion, darken and overpower the ambient light or use wider aperture. Creating a dreamy background has never been easier, and not having to worry about flash sync limitations or the time of day makes for a very liberating creative experience.

For the first time in an Elinchrom portable flash unit, full asymmetry provides a broader range of creative control, and active charging provides the freedom to charge the battery while shooting in studio.

Seamless Integration up to 1/8000s with Elinchrom Hi-Sync Compatible Products

For existing ELB 400, Quadra or D-Lite RX 4 shooters, using the Elinchrom Hi-Sync technology - combine the ELB 500 TTL with your setup seamlessly using It's HSS function to obtain similar power output to your existing kit when shooting above the x-sync. With the ELB 500 TTL the power difference between the HS and HSS methods is now a thing of the past, thanks to Elinchrom's enhancements in maximising efficiency in HSS technology.
