The Zeiss Lightweight Zoom LWZ.3 21-100 mm/T2.9-3.9 T* zoom lens features an individually calibrated, smooth, continuously precise scale. The robust gears and fixed gear positions allow easy attachment of follow focus or wireless lens control systems. A large rotation angle of 294 degrees featured by the focus ring provides much greater control and precision when focus pulling. The LWZ.3 offers superior image performance in any imaginable shooting situation.
Even in the most difficult conditions the LWZ.3 is a trustworthy and powerful companion. The robust splash-proof metal housing provides the freedom to shoot under harsh conditions while retaining the reliability expected from Zeiss.
The wide range of focal lengths—from 21mm to 100mm—allows selection of the perfect field of view, granting the ability to capture unique moments at any time, bypassing the time consuming procedure of changing lenses.
Sophisticated lens design
An 11 blade aperture provides the desired cinematic look with its nicely shaped out-of-focus lights, lovely bokeh, and focus roll-off. Sporting a parfocal lens design, the LWZ.3 does not have irritating focus shift when zooming in and out as is common with still photography lenses. Sophisticated design yields a lightweight lens with uncompromising optical quality—as expected from Zeiss. The special Zeiss T* lens coating reflects any unwanted stray lights, thus ensuring superior contrast, deep blacks, and saturated colours. The lens ensures images remain pin-sharp throughout. Even at 21mm it does not compromise—retaining extremely low distortion, edge to edge sharpness, and a distinct lack of vignetting.
Interchangeable mount system
To keep up with the rapidly developing camera market, the Zeiss LWZ.3 offers a flexible, forward thinking and futureproof way of adapting the lens to a variety of mounts. It is equipped with an interchangeable mount system which enables easily and quickly switching from the EF-mount equipped on this lens to 4 other mounts, including a typical cine-style PL-mount, Sony E, Nikon F, and MFT mounts.
