Hoya 52mm HD Nano UV Filter

Hoya wanted to create a new range of filters that could meet the demands of super high resolution cameras and the needs of photographers who require ultimate protection for their expensive lenses. Using a new multi-coating process that provides 32-layers of anti-reflective coating to the optical UV glass, Hoya created a filter that is 5x sharper and a coating that is 800% harder than the previous model.

The HD Nano filter features an astonishing 99.7% light transmission and uses chemically-hardened optical UV glass to create "The Toughest Filter on the Planet". The Nano coating process includes a top layer which is highly scratch & stain resistant, plus water & oil repellent, making it easy to clean off smudges and fingerprints.

The filter's sharp-cut UV properties remove unwanted ultra-violet rays, which reduces distant haze and increases image clarity. This means the filter faithfully maintains the sharpness and resolution of the original lens, whilst protecting it from everyday wear-and-tear in extreme shooting conditions.

The HD Nano glass is housed in a one-piece, low-profile and lightweight aircraft-grade aluminium filter frame. This one-piece design allows the filter to maintain perfect parallel alignment to the camera sensor, for maximum sharpness and zero distortion. The low-profile design eliminates any vignetting worries when used on ultra-wide-angle lenses. The front filter threads accepts lens caps and other filters for stacking.
