Cokin P Series Landscape Graduated Filter Kit (H300-06)

This Cokin P Series Soft-Edge Graduated Filter Kit contains three filters that can be used individually or in various combinations to improve the results of your landscape photography. The included filters consist of a graduated neutral density filter, a graduated blue filter, and a graduated tobacco filter. The graduated neutral density filter helps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and this graduated neutral density filter provides up to a three-stop reduction in light from entering a lens. The graduated blue filter can be used to add blue to a hazy or colorless sky. When used instead of a polarizer filter to enhance the sky within an image, the desired effect can be applied only to the sky, without any unwanted polarization or additional contrast to any part of the image. The graduated tobacco filter can also enhance a hazy or colorless sky, as well as complement an existing sunrise or sunset within a scene. The graduated blue and graduated tobacco filters reduce light from entering a lens by up to one and two-thirds of a stop and by up to three stops respectively.

Each filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A graduated filter with a soft-edged line of transition is able to filter the sky while minimizing its effect on the land. It is particularly useful where the transition between sky and foreground is indeterminate, such as images featuring mist, fog, or the tops of trees. Together, these filters provide a versatile solution for various lighting and atmospheric conditions. To allow these filters to be placed in front of a lens, a separately-available Cokin P Series filter holder and a Cokin P Series lens adapter ring are required. Each filter is made of durable, optical resin (CR39) and measures 84 x 100 x 1.6mm.
