LEE Filters have a strong following of landscape and architectural photographers who swear by their ranges of various lens filters. They have three main filter sizes, which are lens diameter appropriate. These include the Seven5 Micro Filter System (75mm Filters), LEE100 Filter System (100mm Filters) and the SW150 Mark II Filter System (150mm Filters). The 100 is arguably the most popular as most regular sized DSLR and mirrorless lenses fit this size. The SW150 is for specialised ultra wide angle zooms such as Nikon’s AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm or Canon EF 11-24mm f4L amongst others.
The most common LEE filters used by outdoor photographers include the following:
Neutral density filters (with the Big stopper and Little Stopper)
Neutral density graduated filters
Pro Glass IRND
Black and white
All of these are used in different situations depending on the desired effects. There are a series of useful filter videos on Lee website here and our own staff have reviewed the 100 system here in our blog. Both of our stores have ample products on display as well as helpful staff for any questions.
