The newer Pentax digital camera systems are now becoming a choice often considered by professionals for their sheer range of Pentax fit lenses, a lens mount which has existed since the 1940's. A Pentax DSLR will also be a serious consideration for those who already own a Pentax SLR system and a range of Pentax SLR lenses.

Pentax digital SLR’s are purely aimed at the consumer and prosumer markets offering two cameras with a wide selection of lenses dating back to its creating in 1975. Pentax a company dating back to the 1940’s have a long history of creating high quality products. Many Pentax SLR users have a long standing brand loyalty and due to the age of the mount many use their older manual focus lenses on the new modern digital SLRs.

The choice between the Pentax Kx and the Pentax K7 is fairly straight forward with the K7 offering a higher resolution and more solid body suited to even professional use. Pentax went down the route of building in shake reduction into their bodies, this helps reduce and hand shake and enables the lenses to be smaller and lighter than many of the competitions. It also by default means every lens, even a 30 year old lens gains this ability a claim which is unmatched by any other company.
