There are 2 types of lens for Canon EOS DSLRs. EF and EF-S. EF lenses fit on all Canon EOS cameras and include all of Canon's Pro lenses. The EF-S lenses will however only fit 20D,30D,40D,50D,300D,350D,400D, 450D,500D,550D,1000D and 7D bodies. This is due to the APS-C sensor which allows Canon to make less expensive lenses achieving excellent results.
