Fujifilm FinePix X100 - First Deliveries arrive at Park Cameras!

Upon its arrival, the presentation of the Fujifilm FinePix X100 generated a hive of interest, teamed with generous respect for its air of quality. Some even likened it to that of a Leica, strong words indeed and large shoes to fill. After discussions with colleagues we all agreed that the camera and its nostalgic feel reminded us of our childhood and brought back memories of happy holidays on the coast.

With the combination of digital technology and traditional manual controls such as an aperture ring, shutter speed dial and even a screw thread on the shutter button for a cable release this camera will appeal to both film a digital users. Perhaps if you are the person thinking that digital cameras fail to compare against your Canon AE-1, Nikon FM3a or Olympus OM2 the Fuji X100 is worth a look.

With a strong metal body the Fuji X100 is no failing pretty boy, it really will walk the walk and talk the talk. Incorporating features seen before on the F100 such as Fuji’s film simulation modes including Velvia for landscapes, Astia for portraits and for black and white including filter effects for Ansel Adams fans. In a rather well thought out concept the Fuji X100 also has a quick button to turn the camera on to silent (including flash suppression) for those candid snapshots. Metering is accurate with a broad dynamic range showing good detail in both highlights and shadows even when shot in close proximity. Optical quality is high this stunning 35mm (35mm equiv:) f/2 lens will put many modern DSLR lenses to shame, teaming this with a 12.3 megapixel sensor offering users the same flexibility of a 35mm film, capable of printing up to 18”x12” with ease.

If you are a film fan or seeking a high quality compact with a strong sense of style get your hands on a Fuji X100 and you will not be disappointed.
