Lightest DSLR on the Market?
Like its predecessor the DMC-G1 and its big brother the Panasonic Lumic DMC-G2 the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G10 uses a very similar body design but drops down to 360g, that’s 25% lighter than the G2, to make it the lightest DSLR out there. Unlike most other manufacture image quality isn’t sacrificed to produce a cheaper body Panasonic have looked at other solutions. Most notably the removing the popular swivel screen in both the G1 and Panasonic Lumic DMC-G2, whilst this isn’t a major change does limit the flexibility. As another cost saving measure they have also removed the touch screen as featured in the Panasonic Lumic DMC-G2
High Definition Movie
Like its big brother, the Panasonic Lumic DMC-G2, and most other model DSLRs, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G10 has high definition movie at 720P and a microphone input for the budding movie makers out there. Again unsurprisingly Panasonic have including an HDMI port for playing back onto your HD compatible TV.
Auto made easy
Like all the other Panasonic Lumix cameras the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G10 features Ai mode which although an auto setting does so much more, the camera will choose the correct scene mode depending what you shooting. For instance if you’re taking a photo of a personal the camera will not only focus on the persons face with Face Detection, like most compacts, but it will select the Portrait setting from the pre-set scene modes. This means that you really will get the best shot no matter what your experience.
Panasonic are known worldwide for their electronics and there digital cameras have always excelled; the Panasonic G10 is no exception. Unlike other companies there is no have measures even on an ‘entry level’ camera the specifications are far from ‘entry level’. Certainly its big brother offers some more exotic features, primarily the touch screen LCD, but if you want a compact DSLR you’ll not go wrong with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G10.
