An extra sensor on the Spyder 4 adapts the display to the surrounding ambient light and measures the display luminance accordingly. Featuring improved accuracy and stability, the fourth generation Spyder 4 includes double-shielded colour filters for a precise colour match to CIE colour standards and improved long term stability. The average accuracy has been increased by 26% and the consistency between previous Spyder units has improved by 19%. The Spyder 4 is equipped with a patented, full-spectrum 7-color sensor that can characterise a variety of wide gamut and normal displays such as your desktop or laptop, as well as iOS devices such as your iPad.
