The Aim of the course:
To cover the use of Adobe’s latest version of their popular editing software program Photoshop Elements 9.0 to manipulate digital images using appropriate tools and techniques.

Suitable For:
For those who have recently purchased / or are thinking of purchasing the latest version of Photoshop Elements 10. The course content can also be applied to previous versions of Photoshop Elements i.e. V4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 as the techniques and tools used are very similar.

Topics covered during the course:
• Downloading Images to the computer using the Adobe Photo downloader
• Navigation of the Tool bar – use of the appropriate tools to manipulate digital images including clone stamp, healing / spot healing and scene cleaning tools.
• Use of the comprehensive Help facility
• Editing Images – Use of the Guided, Quick and Full Editing modes
• Explanation and implementation of the 3 stage editing process to maximize your digital images –
1. Exposure adjustment using Levels (Black & White point adjustment)
2. Resizing
3. Sharpening
• How to apply local and global image adjustment
• Working with RAW files (using ACR) a brief explanation of the use of the RAW file format will be covered. (For a more in depth explanation of using the RAW format, we suggest attending the Working with RAW files course.
• Use of the Organizer to tag and organize images
• Printing Single / Multiple images

Apple Mac or PC?
At Park Cameras we are now able to offer our software courses on both Mac and PC to cater for the wider needs of our customers. Should you wish to utilise one of our Macs then please let us know as these are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Required Equipment:
No equipment is required as students will be using the facilities provided in our fully equipped training room although you may however wish to bring your own images jpg or RAW files on cd or a storage card for manipulation purposes.

Course Duration:
7 hours with 30 mins for lunch
