Park Cameras is delighted to announce this two-part workshop in partnership with Ian Pack. Ian, a well respected, multi-disciplined photographer, based in West Sussex, has successfully married theory and practical to provide delegates with the opportunity to shoot one of the South East’s most iconic land features, the Seven Sisters in East Sussex, as well as the surrounding Hope Gap and other natural features. Part classroom, part on location, Ian’s Landscape Photography Workshop focuses on what can be possible through the critiquing of inspirational landscape photographers work, before moving on to showing you how the same results can be achieved simply by knowing your camera and by having an understanding of which additional products can help you achieve the perfect results.

The Aim of the Course:
To provide keen amateur photo enthusiasts with the knowledge to go out and capture exceptional images across a variety of different landscapes. This will be made possible by simply understanding how your camera should be set up for this genre of photography under the expert tutelage of Ian before moving on to a more practical environment at the Seven Sisters in East Sussex.

Suitable For:
Competent photographers who are looking to achieve more from their camera with regards to capturing landscape images as well as an understanding of how different levels of light and weather conditions can be used to your advantage to benefit your images.

Course Timings
•9.30 – 10.00 – Arrive at Park Cameras and register. Tea and coffee
•10.30 – 10.30 – Ian Pack (workshop leader) will commence with an overview of the course followed by an introduction to landscape photography with a review of some inspirational work by some of the industries renowned landscape photographers
•10.30 – 11.30 – Introduction to composition and exposure techniques required for landscape photography
•11.30 – 11.45 – Tea and coffee break
•11.45 – 12.30 – Presentation of the effect of lenses on one landscape scene. This will include the use of zoom and prime lenses with examples of kit available to handle prior to the field workshop following lunch. Lunch will also be preceded by an overview of the afternoon session at Hope Gap and the Seven Sisters
•12.30-13.15 – Buffet-style lunch
•13.15 – 14.00 – Travel to Seaford Head
•14.00 – 16.00 – Field workshop at Seaford Head.

This will cover the following elements:
• What to expect based on weather observations along with ideas for shots later in the session
• Walk to first photographic opportunity via Seaford Head Coastal Path
• Arrive at Hope Gap, viewing towards the white cliffs of Seaford Head. Depending on the tidal state the workshop may be conducted on the beach which will increase creative possibilities and the time spent at this point
• Again, depending on the state of the tide, the group will either walk along the beach to the mouth of the Cuckmere River estuary or continue along Seaford Head Coastal Path to the cliff top cottages as portrayed in the film, ‘Atonement’
• The second cliff-top opportunity will include the cottages with the Seven Sisters in the background as well as views along Cuckmere Valley and the river meanders
• Return to car park to review images and to conduct a short closing overview
• For members of the party who may be interested there will be the option of continuing to High and Over on the Alfriston Road and with it The Long Man of Wilmington for further photographic opportunities and tuition
